We all deserve respect. Join the Respect Revolution!

Spring 2009 Mural

This year’s Respect Revolution Campaign took place at Victoria High School for the second year in a row. This year we did things a little differently than in the past...during the Campaign, the opportunity to collaborate on a mural project came up and we jumped at the chance! Project Respect and antidote: Multiracial and Indigenous Girls and Women’s Network collaborated and created a community mural together in Esquimalt. As well, the group participated in the 3rd annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, hosted by the Victoria Women’s Sexual Assault Center. The Respect Revolution Campaign participants worked hard before the march to create colourful placards, to be carried by many of the march’s participants that day. They also marched as part of the Victoria High School team present that day and helped to hold up the Victoria Women’s Sexual Assault Center banner at the very front of the march. The impact of the Respect Revolution Campaign participants’ social action projects will continue in the form of a growing legacy of marches attended by Victoria High School youth and a bright mural of messages in Esquimalt.
